hi,

sometimes the usb adapter will get by and sometimes it will be the glitch.
can you discover the brand/model of the motherboard?
several i have read about lately have the socket on the motherboard, just
not the connector plumbed out the back.
middle of the road would be to get a small pci board especially if you want
to use an older parallel printer.
