Nicole, I'm using eclipse SDK version 4.3.0. on Windows 7 32 bit with
JAWS 14, and Eclipse java EE for web developers' version Kepler
service release 1. on Windows 8.1 64 bit with JAWS 15 for my java
projects. As a beginner in programming, I am still exploring the
interface in both versions so as to get a feel of what each flavor has
to offer. The latter has a somewhat different feel with regards to its
menus and menu items. I must admit I'm not programming savvy, so as an
extension to your query, I would also want to find out which version
works well with JAWS. I am particularly interested to know if there
are any JAWS scripts for eclipse. I am made to understand there are
drop down menus that pop up allowing one to select a particular item
such as a function, but JAWS does not read this list. In addition,
there seems to be a slight difference in terms of JAWS default
settings between the two platforms. I seem to get prompts on the
latter platform that warns me of syntax errors while in the editor
that I don't get on the former. Overall, I am able to move back and
forth between projects using a number of useful eclipse keystrokes.
Just in case you didn't know, "CTRL + Shift +L" pulls up the entire
list of eclipse keyboard commands. Prior to using eclipse, I tried
Netbeans; however, its interface was totally inaccessible.
