[nfbcs] a new job and using excel and some questions

Hmm that may but a small crimp in my plans. I was planning to list the
businesses in a drop down list and just copy the same list down the row so I
could select the business name and then only have to enter the house
numbers.

No, at least not the dropdowns my boss created. I use alt-down-arrow to
open the box, then I have to arrow through. Typing the first letter doesn't
seem to get me anywhere.

Hi Tracy,

Thanks for that. A question about your drop down menus. Can you navigate
them with first letter navigation? And do they work just like if you were
browsing the net?

Hi Mike.
I know there is a way to create a dropdown list, because I have some in a
spreadsheet my boss created, but I don't know how it's done.
If you google "Excel with Jaws", you will find some tutorials you may find
helpful. Or you could google "creating dropdown in Excel", and that would
probably help, too. Also, National Braille Press has a quick keys card for
Jaws and Excel; and hitting insert-h while in Excel will give you a list of
Jaws keys.
HTH. Good luck with the new job.
Tracy

Hi,

I am starting a new job at a taxi company in my town. The good part is my
town is small so small in fact we don't use street address but building
numbers. That makes it really easy to do the work. I have chosen to use
excel to keep track of the cars. So I am wondering if there is a way under
my business column to make a bunch of dropdown lists with the same names in
it to select the business name? We also have a list when the calls are slow
for which driver gets the next call is there a way to add a function in
excel to move the car from the top of the list to the bottom or is cut and
paste the quickest option? Also any suggestions on quickly using excel with
jaws would be great. I am using office 2013 pro.

Mike
