That is the trick question. You did everything right. Did you get to Folder
Options by clicking on Tools and then Options? Then, remember to apply to
all folders when done.

I want to see file extensions in Windows Explorer in Windows 7.  I went to
Folder Options, View tab, and "hide file extensions for known file types" is
off, but I still don't see the file extensions.  What's the trick?
