[nfbcs] recommended scanning solution

Good morning list,
I am interested in learning what folks recommend for a portable
scanner solution to connect to a laptop. I would also like it to
recognize pdf image files (this is often something that I am required
to do.
I of course know that docuscan and openbook are available. What are
folks using? What are the advantages and disadvantages of your
systems.
