[nfbcs] Computer science major one computer?

Strange... I have 12GB, run Visual Studio, Android Studio, Crome, Linux in a
VM, and have Outlook open most of the time, and have no memory problems.

That will work if you are doing only one or two things at once and might be
a little sluggish, but, for use with JAWS and multiple tasks, you need 16
GB--I am speaking from experience. My laptop at work has 16 GB and is still
sluggish if I am doing too many things at once.

I did fine with 8 GB ram on my windows laptop.  Don't forget also that you
will probably need to give presentations so make sure to get a laptop with a
VGA port and HDMI port if windows.  Also, bigger laptops like 17 inch have
bigger keyboards and keypads.  I have a bigger laptop now which has a VGA
port.  Smaller laptops I had before didn't have vga ports and only mini
hdmi.  I much prefer my 17 inch laptop over the smaller ones I had before.
