[nfbcs] ATQ was RE: jaws so sensitive is BS!

As a friendly reminder, most people who have questions are interested in
getting their questions answered--not finding another way to do something.
If more than one or two other ways of doing something are suggested instead
of answering the question, then start another thread or at least change the
subject, especially if people are going to start going on about why
companies do stuff. I know that I am not the one who wrote the original
question, but this has happened to me plenty of times, and I am sure that
other people do not appreciate it either.

Going to hide under my rock,
Nicole

Yeah, my solution was to switch to linux and orca.

I am really surprised they are still doing this. I went around and around
with them about it back when I was doing desktop support. I was trying new
hardware all the time. I told them that policy was driving me away. But I
can see how this makes sense from a marketting and/or business stand point.
They realize that people have alternatives these days but as long as
governments and many businesses are willing to pay, they are going to get
every cent they can from jaws. They are more worried about getting every
dollar they can out of their existing customers than they are about losing
customers.

I know this is not a practical solution for most people but I switched to
linux and orca years ago. It turned out being a good career move too.
I live in a university town and there are always lots and lots of linux
jobs. Something to consider anyway.

(though certainly not all) applications, but on the other hand, you don't
have to put up with rediculous BS like this. I pay every so often for my
Jaws upgrade, just as most of you do, but it kills me a bit each time,
realizing that as much as I respect and appreciate, and admire what the
amazing folks at NVAccess have done, and continue to do, I only give them a
fraction of the money I give to VFO.
