Your mileage may vary, but I wouldn't sweat needing to use Chrome. I'd be
far more concerned about the Accessibility of the sites you're needing to
use.

Freedom Scientific/VFO has been, and continues to actively work with Google
to ensure that the JAWS/Chrome experience is a good one.  About a year ago,
I switched to Chrome as my primary browser with JAWS.  I find that most
things work well with this combination.  It's a very rare situation that
requires that I use a different browser.

Ideally you should be using the latest Chrome version since accessibility
improvements are ongoing. If your employer is using a version earlier than
Chrome 56, I'd encourage them to update to at least this version.

If you're Chrome experience with JAWS is radically different than the one I
outlined above, please feel free to reach out to me off-list to let me know
your general impressions.  Our Tech Support team is available  for help with
specific issues.

I just got a notice at work saying our required annual training should be
completed using Google Chrome.  I've never used Chrome, or wanted to.  I'd
heard it didn't work well with Jaws, and I'll have to use ChromeVox to use
it.  Is that true?  Is it hard to learn?

The annual training is difficult to complete using a screen reader I
know-lots of mouse clicks required that can't be simulated with spacebar or
enter.

Maybe the best solution will end up being to have some joker from HR stand
next to me and do the clicking and all, since they are in charge of the app
and its accessibility, or lack thereof.  "Inclusion" seldom includes blind
people.

Please advise about Chrome.
