Kevin,

To be clear, I do not think the website changed my zoom level.  I probably did it at some point by accident.  The computer having this problem has a touch screen, and I have occasionally caused things to happen by accident.  <smile> As I have said in another note, I know a website can get some information about the amount of space available to it, but I do not know to what degree the zoom level affects what a website sees.  Clearly, zooming in reduces the space available, but I'm not a web developer so I don't know all of the ins and outs.

I personally have never run into that and I'm not sure if websites can control those settings without perhaps a Java applet.
