[nfbcs] Outlook syncing way too slowly on my Dell Pc.

Okay, so, to the best of my knowledge, you cannot tell Outlook
to only sync some folders and not others-if the folders are part of the
account, they are going to get synced.

To create a new Outlook folder for storing emails on your
computer, do the following:

1. From the message list, press Alt F, then I.

2. Press tab 3 times and enter twice to land on and then open the
account settings.

3. Press CTRL tab to move to the data files tab.

4. Tab to add and press enter or press Alt A.

5. Press enter-don't change the file type.

6. Type a name for the new file and press enter.

7. Optionally, tab to the list of data files, select the new data file,
and shift tab until you get to the settings button. Press enter, type a new
name to be displayed in the Outlook view (this will not change the name of
the file), and press enter.

8. Press escape to return to the message list.

You can now select any emails that you don't need on your phone and don't
want synced to the internet to move them to the new folder using Alt shift
V. You can use settings dialog in step 7 to open the file location for
backing up your Outlook files.

The settings for which accounts send and receive can be found under the
advanced tab of the options. Get to options by pressing Alt F then T. If you
have not already done so, I would strongly recommend poking around the
options to customize Outlook to your liking.

Finally, to speed up your computer in general, which should also help
Outlook, I would recommend going through the startup list and unchecking
anything that is not critical, including anything and everything that Dell
has unnecessarily installed to override the already existing Microsoft
equivalent.

Hi all!

I have never worked with backing up Emails on a sepret Outlook file. As for
folders, they are the folders that you normally see like Outbox, Inbox,
Junk, ECT.

Ah, okay.so it is trying to sync both accounts, even if you are
only sending from one? Also, when you say folders, do you mean
subdirectories in the Inbox or separate Outlook files?

I have a few more ideas based on what your answers to the above
questions are, but one solution might be to make a new Outlook data file and
then move some of your emails into it. That way, those emails won't get
synced every time. The catch is that those emails will only be available on
that computer, so you will not be able to access them from your smart phone,
and you will need to back up your Outlook files since the emails won't be
synced to the internet.

Hi all!

It's both of my Email accounts that I run into the problem. I do work with
a personal hotspot and my college's wi-fi when I'm on campis. I do have a
lot of Emails in my personal Email but not nearly as many in my school
Email. However, the biggest syncing problem with Outlook is that it takes
several hours to sync up, particularly when I send an Email from my
computer. I don't have this problem on my phone's Outlook nor the iPhone's
mail app. But the computer's Outlook on the other hand often takes several
hours, usually between 4 and 12 hours before it's finished. I have noticed
that it always syncs all the folders in the computer, not just the one
folder that I'm trying to work with. On top of that, whenever I load it up
to read my Email, my Outlook on my laptop computer does just fine there. I
have trouble with it synking up while I'm sending out an Email.

Is your email account pop or imap? Do you have a lot of emails? Is this a
special email account, such as one through your college? What is the speed
of your internet connection? How slow is slow? For example, several seconds,
several minutes, a half hour, etc.

Hi all!
As the subject line says, Outlook is syncing way too slowly on my Dell Pc
computer. I'm working with JAWS and NVDA and I also use Windows 10. Does
anyone know how to speed up the syncing prosess on Outlook on a Dell Pc
computer? I need to use my computer to work with homework, Email attachments
and the like. It's the end of the world for a college student to have a
snail speed syncing computer.
