[NFBCS] amazon web services (AWS)

Hello all,

I just went to an AWS workshop and asked the question directly to AWS personnel. They acknowledged that AWS was not very accessible regardless of the browser. After some internal discussions, they navigated to a separate url for an "accessible version" which seemed to be a list version with limited design, options, and functionality. But then they admitted that the accessible version has not been updated in 2-3 years which is decades in the world of technology. No one mentioned a command line option. They agreed to research internally and then get back to me. I can post their response if/when I receive a reply from Amazon if people on the list are still interested.

Hi, that is interesting William, I was about to say the opposite. I
took a class in AWS this last Spring, and I found the web console to
be terribly inaccessible using Jaws and Google Krome. perhaps using
NVDA and Firefox provides a better experience, but I was having
problems with unlabeled buttons, tables that were designed badly where
the collumn headers were split into a second table, dialogs that Jaws
would not notify me appeared and often times couldn't get to, and
other problems that I don't remember off the top of my head. I got
through my class with a lot of sighted assistance. I recall a lot of
my struggles were in managing S2 services I believe, which is the
service for managing virtual machines. I didn't know that there was a
command line tool for using AWS at the time, but I am guessing that it
would have been the better way for me to go.

Unless Amazon has updated its web console over the past few months, I
would be interested to hear your experience William.

Greetings,
I recall a presentation dealing with AWS at national
Convention this year. Can anyone speak to the accessibility or
inaccessibility of AWS? i know this is a general question, but I am
truthfully looking for all thoughts, nothing specific.
Much thanks,
