[NFBCS] jaws zoom key

Hi,

One more catch,
If you do alt-tab to do something else and can handle your jaws and the
alerts,
When you alt-tab back to zoom,
You have to hit the alt-windows-s again to reactivate silencing the alerts.

Hi,

I attempted to update jaws and it said I have the latest version.
Even with version 2019.1912.1, I had to install the free zoom scripts.
I was finally able to silence the joining/leaving alerts but found out that
unfortunately the alt-windows-s key combination only affects zoom and you
cannot alt-tab to check your email without hearing the annoying alerts!
At least I can read the chat window without the interruptions now.
Thanks,
Bryan

For any fairly recent version of JAWS, you can use a layered key sequence,
Insert-Space, followed by S. The advantage of doing this is that the alerts
continue to come through on a braille display without disrupting the audio.
The Windows-Alt-A keystroke silences all alerts in braille and in speech,
and only within the Zoom program.

hello. I had some success with NVDA and Zoom in this regard. I
used NVDA-S, which toggles speech mode through various settings. I still
have to endure the arrival and departure alerts when I want to use Zoom to
do something, but if all I'm doing is listening to a meeting, then this
functionality works. This key is like turning speech off on VoiceOver, that
is, VoiceOver is still running, but it doesn't talk.
Not sure if there is an equivalent command in Jaws. It would be nice to be
able to silence the alerts without having to turn the voice off completely,
but it's a start.
