Although Linux is popular, I'm guessing that the number of people using it
with a braille display is pretty small on this list.  I believe there are a
few people on this list that probably fit that category, though, but I am
not one.  

Do you have speech working?  Is there a chance it is booting up into one of
the graphical user interfaces?

Where I am right now with the Braille Edge and Linux support. 

The braille display seems as if it is wanting to connect. But, a screen pops
up saying:

"screen not in text mode"

When I go to terminal mode, the screen still says that. The braille program
should be able to pull the text from the OS display. How might I resolve
this? Thanks!

On this note, I have switched the braille display to the virtual machine and
have activated brltty service. The braille display says, "no screen". Where

I have a question to all concerning the HIMS Braille Edge and using it with
Linux. Can it be used with Linux and what must I do to achieve this? I have
varying flavors of Linux to include CentOS, Kali, Ubuntu and others so the
distro is not the concern. What I have a problem with is using the Edge on
either of these distros going through Virtual Machine. I have done research
before writing this list but time is a factor. Please contact me via this
