Yes, that is what I meant  when I said I got the JAWS professional license.
Unfortunately, you don't have any other options if thin client access is
mandatory. 

I was thankful at the time to have this option since my job depended on me
having access.

The most difficult part of implementing this solution for me was server
support to install JAWS on the remote desktop server. You can get some
instructions to pass on by looking at the JAWS menu > Help > Technical
Support > Remote Access.

It's been quite a while since I used this but let me know if I can be of
assistance.

Just talked with fs tech and he said remote client server situations need
the advanced license which is $200 more.

This does not require an additional JAWS license. The remote JAWS is
authorized by your local JAWS when the connection is made. You are allowed
to install JAWS on the remote server at no cost. When I used this several
years ago, an upgrade to JAWS professional was required on your local
machine.

Citrix is one of the platforms supported by JAWS so there shouldn't be any
cost related to this.
The Citrix client should be provided to everyone using thin client by your
company.

There are several flavors of  thin client. JAWS does support some of these.
It requires JAWS be installed on the remote desktop. JAWS establishes a
channel between the remote JAWS and the JAWS running on your local computer.
This is done in the background so you  operate the local JAWS just as you
would in a thick client environment.

I used this on a job and it works well with Microsoft Remote Access. I
understand it also works well on the other platforms supported by JAWS. You
will have to get your company to install JAWS on the remote desktop
platform. There is JAWS documentation for all of this.

I thought I would be using my current computer and have no idea what this
hardware is that I will be receiving in a few days.

the CPU, memory, and hard drive power come from a server or server farm.
There is also a welcome reduction in security exposure, as the terminal
server environment is locked down.

Does a user have any chance of installing and using jaws on this type of
device?
