[NFBCS] "File not Found" on Save As in Adobe Audition 1.5

Dale,

Wow, I am surprised that the old Adobe Audition and CoolEdit still run. I used those as well.

The only reason I can think of for getting a File Not Found when saving a file is if the path isn't recognized. When you create a new file and you save it for the first time, you should get the dialog that lets you see the folder that you are saving the file to. It is conceivable in software that old that a modern path is longer than what is allowed internally. You could try creating a folder nearer to the root level to see if that makes any difference. Also check the length of the file name you are saving as well. I think long file names started with Windows XP, but I think the allowable length has increased from the original limit as well, so there might be a limit imposed internally by old software. This is just an educated guess on my part, though, and maybe I am exaggerating when I say "educated."

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Subject: [NFBCS] "File not Found" on Save As in Adobe Audition 1.5

I have Windows 10, and I'm still using my old Adobe Audition (and even CoolEdit 2000).
After the latest Windows Update, I wanted to save an edited WAV file as MP3 in Audition.
"File not Found" was the puzzling message.
I'm kind of nonplussed.
Anyone have recommendations, or even an explanation?
TIA
