Linda:

Your student needs access to the raw form of this text, alt-tags of 
images and writing out operators in english is not a solution. You can 
not learn programming with mangled source that she will then have to 
reconvert and try to understand.


Please feel free to reach out if I can be of any assistance or answer 
questions. If possible, it might be worth checking into an accessible 
copy of this book or if the author is willing to distribute the source.
