[NFBCS] Downloading with Chrome

Well, never mind, I guess.  I hit enter again on the link, and this time it
gave me an alert.  I just didn't know I had to keep hitting enter until
something actually happened.

Is there a way to tell Chrome has started, or finished, a download?  I hit
enter on a link to download whatever, and nothing happens, so far as I can
tell.

I got an add-on for Firefox that plays a sound when the download is
complete.  Is there such an add-on for Chrome?
