Hi Richard, I would really like to talk more. My direct email is w3explorer at gmail.com <mailto:w3explorer at gmail.com> .

I spoke with Susie Stanzel another NFB member last night. She is also interested investing. There seems to be some interest in the topic. Maybe your mailing list is a solution for all of us to exchange ideas.

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan et all:

Yup, I watched Kramer many years ago.

Hee gave he most intense, wild and insane warning rant about the condition of the banks just before the bottom fell out during that credit recession and before the govt. setup the various bank reserve and other requirements and let Lehman fail.

It was, to say the least, entertaining and I did listen to him and got out with minimal losses during that recession.

That was the only year I ever lost money and it was limited to about 8 percent.

Other stocks he has recommended, usually on that blitz session where he gives his opinion of stocks callers ask him about – Lightning Round?, are another story and as and investor, not a trader or speculator, I used a home-grown investing and stock picking platform I developed some 20 plus years ago.

I used it and Bloomberg radio (for listening to global executives and agency leaders directly) as well as much internet research, when picking stocks for about 25 years now.

I mostely, with occaisional exceptions, invested in stocks based on fundamental analysis of sorts, and what I glean from daily inverviews with world and corporate analysts and leaders.

This way I have never lost money, except 1 time, see Kramer above, but missed most of the radical profits of the hot companies like amazon, google and others since they always seemed over priced using fundamental analysis.

My brother made a buck listening to cnbcv and trading on their recommendations, then lost it all and much more of his retirement funds and his wife made him quit trading.

Another blind fellow I met in Arkansas made about a hundred grand trading commodities then lost it all in about 2 weeks, including his original inheritance.

He listened to CNBC but I don’t knowif he based his decisions on info from them.

If you are interested in investing how to approach it depends on your age and income and goals.

CNBC is a entertainment channel and a platform for analyst to give their opinions.

Some of which may be colored based on situations not in the best interest of those watching the broadcast or based on very high risk gambles but I did like Kramer and he was correct about the banks the the ensuing recession.

He seemed honest and I had wondered about his “Investment Club” as it were but never checked it out since many of his holdings seemed quite speculitive when ran through my personal analytics.

Don’t get me wrong, everything in life is a risk/reward situation and for planning you want to balance these 2 outcomes carefully.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up, I can check out kramers results – perhaps if they are published.

Blackrock Vanguard J P Morgan and other financial institutions offer discussions and funds, some good, some not so good depending on your personal situation and your goals and perhaps an option to CNBC.

Bieng in a trading club may be fun and even profitable, but I have found successful investing to be long and sometimes hard work.

Sorry for the long posting.

If you want, Post back with your investing background and we can talk more:

Don’t post any sensitive detailson any e-list or blog unless you are damn sure about the management, I will send you my personal e-mail or phone number if you want to talk to me in more detailed depth.

Just so you know, I ran the Blind-Finance list, mostely about investing and banking, for about a decade and have been around some programming lists for many years as Rick Usa and sometimes ofbg or Richard R. Thomas.

I hold 2 BS degrees and heavy graduate work in business and finance and computer science.

I have averaged about 10 percent over the last 20 years and actually started investing before personal computers by hanging out at a stock brokers office watching the overhead scrolling ticker.

Talk soon I hope, I love banking and investing and the folks who participate in related endevors!

Hi Richard,

The CNBC Investing Club is run by Jim Cramer. If you’ve ever watched Mad Money on CNBC ()6pm EDT you’re watching Jim Cramer. The club moved from Cramer’s own company (thestreet.com) to CNBC last year. Since I’m not a member I don’t know for sure but I think it’s more or less the same thing as what was Action Alerts Plus Club when Cramer was running thestree.com.

On Action Alerts Plus Cramer maintained a list of holdings in a charitable trust. He sends out alerts before every transactions. Plus there’s a daily video and other alerts as warranted. Most of what I got on Action Alerts Plus you can gleem off of Mad Money if you’re a consistent watcher. However, it can be a day or two after the actual trade before he mentions something on Mad Money. I don’t know if the CNBC Investing Club is the same as Action Alerts Plus was, but I’m guessing it is.

Cramer has over 40 years of trading experience. He’s certainly not perfect but I like his attitude. He explains many angles that investors might not think of.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi:

I am an old investor and am blind.

I use some home-grown software I developed over the years.

At 74 I have lightened up on the active trading but am interested in this investment club and your active investing strategies.

I have not followed CNBC but rather Bloomberg over the years.

Is this club something that has a proven track record from folks you actually know?

I have been laddering into some etfs this year but still dabble in investing individual issues when something is really nice.

Thanks for any heads up about the club or your methods.

Hi,

Is anyone a member of the CNBC Investing Club and can speak to the

accessibility (or lack thereof). They don't offer a trial period and I'm

hesitant to sign up without knowing I can use it.

Thank You,

Dan
