I purchased a high-end laser printer from Costco in 2014 for $399 It is rated for 10,000 copies or prints a month. It had one ink toner cargridge in it that had approximately 1,000 prints on it. I have bought one replacement cartridge and am still using it eight years later.
My printer problems have all gone away!

While I can't answer for Curtis, from what I've experienced, toner, which is what laser printers use, is stored in the cartridge as a pouder, whereas ink is a liquid. So ink tends to evaporate over a few months, or at least thicken, and gum up the printer. So you end up spending more on ink than you do on toner over the long run.

Bear in mind that you will probably need visual help to get any printer connected to your Wi-Fi network, but once that is done, you can use the printer-specific program you install on your computer after that. My suggestion is to visit a store to pick the printer you want and then be prepared to pay a bit more to get it set up and installed.
