[NFBCS] "download accessibility software"

Thanks guys for the explanation of this weird way of allegedly tackling
accessibility. Though I'd think labeling all the buttons would be more
helpful.

Tracy,

My employer used to have a link to that company, and at the time it mostly
affected the appearance of a page but didn't do much for screen readers. I
believe it is a web browser plug-in that is downloaded but I don't remember
for certain.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

I looked again yesterday before getting AIRA to help me make my appointment.
The accessibility link went to what seemed to be another website by a
company called ESsentials. It seemed weird.

I have never heard of such a thing. I also am not aware of any accessibility
overlays that require you to download something. That whole idea goes
against the stated purpose of overlays.

I would be suspicious without more info.

Yesterday I tried to go to Labcorp to make an appointment online, which I
ultimately was not able to do. But, on the home site, there was a link
labelled "accessibility". I followed it, and it wanted me to "download
accessibility software" and accept whatever terms they had. I didn't
continue. I have accessibility software, Jaws, and I didn't see any good
reason to download some mystery software.

Anyone know about this kind of thing? Is it the accessibility overlay stuff
I've been hearing about? Does it cover Labcorp's butt, that I can't make an
appointment through their site, but hey, I didn't download whatever software
they want me to use?

Tracy
