[NFBCS] JAWS 2022 and windows 11 with SecureCRT

Ty,

I have not run into this yet but am interested in issues relating to terminal emulators. Am I correct that you were running the same version of JAWS and SecureCRT under Windows 10? If that is the case, I would try uninstalling and re-installing SecureCRT in case something with the upgrade caused a problem. It might not be a bad idea to do the same thing with JAWS for that matter in case there was a subtle problem with the upgrade process.

Is this the most current version of SecureCRT? If not, there is always a slim possibility they made a change to get around a Windows 11 compatibility issue in a subsequent version. I know some terminal emulators try to preserve backward compatibility for some distance back, and that can sometimes cause issues moving forward.

This may not relate at all, but I had a problem with an IBM 3270 emulator under Windows 10 because the font was not defined. JAWS would not read any of the text. I could access the menus, though, and I eventually picked another font that resolved the problem. I doubt we'd be so lucky for that to be your issue, though.

This is the kind of thing that we really need to bring to Microsoft's attention if you don't find another reason for this or a solution. Please let us know whatever you find, and hopefully others may have an answer.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Subject: [NFBCS] JAWS 2022 and windows 11 with SecureCRT

Hi all,

I upgraded to windows 11 a while back and JAWS no longer seems to read SecureCRT 7.2. Has anyone else ran into this issue/found a fix? The NewTextEvent doesn't even seem to work.

Thanks,
