Hi Nicole - If you are a JAWS user, you might want to check out FS CAST from several months back. Glen Gordon highlights a number of the changes in Windows 11. I upgraded based on this POD cast. Steve -----Original Message----- From: NFBCS

Hello Nicole:

There are definite procedural and operational changes in Windows 11 which

will impact screen reader users. While one might classify these as annoying

and somewhat frustrating, in the main, Windows 11 is accessible to the

blind. In File Explorer, the ribbon is gone and thus, you need to press the

Alt key in order to get to the menus in that program. In terms of displaying

all applications in the System Tray, you will have to select all of the apps

one by one instead of globally telling Windows to display all of them in the

system tray. The Taskbar is has a lot of widgets which I would remove to

clean things up. The Clipboard history is somewhat less verbose than the

Clipboard History in Windows 10, but not so as you would be denied access.

These are the things I am aware of that have changed in Windows 11. I am

sure other folks can call out other changes that would affect blind users.

Cordially,

Curtis Chong

For a while now, my Windows 10 laptop has been reminding me that

I can upgrade to Windows 11. Is there anything different with accessibility

in Windows 11 or some other reason that I should not upgrade?

Thanks,

Nicole
