Hello folks,

A good friend of mine is conducting a research study focused on cyber
related incidents people have experienced. If anyone has had a recent
experience with a cyber related crime please reach out to Danielle Jacobs
directly as she is the researcher conducting the study.

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in joining a user study here at the CUBIC Lab at
ASU!

We are looking for participants who have experienced a cyber incident within
the past 12-months. To participate you must meet the following questions:

1.	Have you experienced any of these cyber related incidents in the
past 12 months (select any that apply)?

*	Email or Website Scam (Phishing) - A scam through email or website
consists of when someone is conned into clicking on a malicious link.
*	Denial of Service (DoS) - In this attack, the network is flooded
with traffic that prevents users from accessing a service or resource. A
recent example of this is the DoS attack on the Chicago Airports. While no
airport operations were impacted, the external website became inaccessible.

*	Victim of Data Breach - Data breaches are unauthorized access to
sensitive information, usually due to a hack on company that hosted your
data. To see if your email has been involved in a known data breach, visit:

*	Ransomware - Involves experiencing malware that prevents a user from
accessing their data or system through encrypting. A ransom is required to
get the data back.
*	Cyberbullying - bullying that takes place through a virtual/online
medium.
*	Fraud or identity theft (including social media account hack/stolen)
- Similar to a data breach, it goes one step further. Not just is
information stolen, but someone logs into a statement as you and pretends to
open accounts under your identity.
*	Harmful Online Content - This involves involuntary exposure to
harmful content online. Some examples of this include hate speech, the sale
of drugs, or violence.
*	Invasive spyware, device recording, or data usage - This involves
exposure to spyware or unwanted rerecording. An example may be babysitting a
pet and not being given appropriate notice that the house uses video
surveillance.
*	Virus, malware, or data corruption - This could be an experience
with adware that downloads on your system and displays unwanted pop-ups and
advertisements. This category could include any known virus or malware
experienced on personal devices.
*	Physical loss or damage of computer, phone, IoT device, or other
connected technology that you rely on-Examples of this category could be
stolen devices or devices becoming unusable due to malware.

2.	Are you 18 or over?

*	Yes
*	No

We will follow up and let you know if you meet the criteria for the study.
If you are eligible to participate, we will work with you to schedule a time
for a remote 30-minute to 1-hour semi-structured interview held through
video conferencing. During the interview, you will be asked to recall a
recent cyber incident and the effects it had. After completion of the
interview, you will be compensated $50 in the form of a gift card.
