Hello Bhavya,
This is a great opportunity for you to explore a data set. The input is already in a csv file.
Why not break the data into 10 time segments? For each segment compute the max, the mean, and the min for the set of the data.
Then review the time series for the 10 max values, the 10 mean values, and the 10 min values.
Just looking at the numbers, do you notice a trend?
SAS has a graphics accelerator. It requires uploading your csv file to a website.
Much data I analyze is proprietary and cannot be uploaded to a public website so I do not use it.
Matlab is a good analysis tool.
I routinely form histograms to get a feel for the data set.
Please feel free to contact me off list at johnmillerphd at hotmail.com with other analysis approach ideas.
Very best,
John\

Subject: [NFBCS] Exploratory Data Analysis And Sonification

Dear all,

I am tasked with some exploratory data analysis for some large time-seried data sets. My sense is that graphing a variable in terms of value of the variable on the y axis and time on the x axis, i.e.
data visualization, would be a good first step to get a feel for general trends before conducting more specific analyses. While I cannot see such a graph, I know that audio graphing technologies generally exist. What tools or libraries could I use to sonify plots that I generate in the process of analysing a .csv file in Python?
Other strategies for exploratory data analysis are also welcome.

I would appreciate any thoughts and inputs!

Kind Regards,
Bhavya Shah
