[NFBCS] Preparing to Purchase New Computer

Afternoon:

I have the following input:

1. SD cards are being removed. However, blind devices still use the SD
card, as mentioned by Nancy. Ethernet ports are nice and can get you
connected in a private network. However, there are USB to Ethernet
converters which can achieve the same thing.
2. The easiest way is to download the JAWS program from Freedom Scientific.
Yiu will probably have to download it anyway so why not just load it on your
new system, install it, and remove the installation module?
3. You should be able to backup your files to OneDrive and retrieve them on
the new system.
4. Your favorites should be backed up when you backup your entire system to
the OneDrive.

For any other questions, just ask.

Subject: [NFBCS] Preparing to Purchase New Computer

Hi Everyone:

I have not been on this list for a while. I'm about to purchase a new
desktop because mine is seven years old. I have a few questions that some of
you may be able to answer:

1. I have seen several models without an SD card slot. Is it true that they
are being phased out? I've also noticed that there is no Ethernet port
either.
2. What is the easiest way to install Jaws on my new PC? Can you copy the
exe to a flash drive? I was able to do this without sighted assistance seven
years ago but can't remember what I did at the time.
3. I have Onedrive as part of Microsoft Office. Can I send all of my folders
to Onedrive and retrieve their contents on the new PC as long as I use the
same Microsoft account?
4. Can I back up my favorites and retrieve them on the new PC using the same
Microsoft account?

Thanks for your response in advance.
