Hi,

Do you know if the start button can be moved back to the left corner?

Hello Dana:

I recently bought a new computer running Windows 11. The changes for
nonvisual users are not all that bad, but they do exist.

In File Explorer, the ribbon is gone. You have to press alt followed a left
or right arrow to get into some of the choices you can make there.

The System Tray no longer has the option to have all items shown. You have
to go in and manually add all of the apps you want to show up in the System
Tray's notification area.

There are a whole bunch of things that I have chosen to turn off--things
like widgets, etc. And, like all other versions of Windows, if you want file
extensions to be shown, you have to turn that on in File Explorer.

If you want to use Narrator for anything, you might like the natural voices
that Microsoft has added to this program.

I find myself still performing some tweaks as I continue to use my new
system.

Kind regards,

Curtis Chong

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is well. I was considering transitioning to Windows 11 and
was preparing to do so, but had some questions..

Are there any major changes aside from the appearance? Also, is there
anything I should be aware of as a screen reader user? Are there any new
shortcuts or things I have to learn? Did you like or dislike Windows 11?

Sorry for all the questions, but it's a big transition :)

I currently use NVDA and JAWS 2022.

Thank you,

Dana
