[NFBCS] Reading email on the server

Sorry, I was doing some research.
Now, the website works the same on my old and new Windows machines. The
messages are in a table. If I find a link to a message and hit enter on it,
it says "loading" forever, but if I tab a while I get to the message. There
is a header right above the message, but h does not jump to it. Sometimes,
I am in application cursor mode, but switching to virtual cursor doesn't
change anything so far as I can tell.
When I'm done reading the message, I can get back to the message table, but
it continues to say "loading" and doesn't read subsequent messages. I
haven't tried Christopher's idea of opening the message in another window,
but I will.
Does anyone have any further ideas?
Do I have enough info to have a coherent talk with my ISP's tech support?
Maybe I could tell them the website email isn't playing well with my screen
reader, and ask if there is an alternative? Sometimes versions intended for
mobile phone use are easier to deal with.
Thanks.
Tracy

Have you tried hitting control+enter to see if it comes up in it's own tab?
After hitting control+enter you may have to hit alt+tab or control+tab to
find the tab or window that it's in. I'm not optimistic this will help, but
it's worth a try.

Hi Brian.
I am using using imap on my email on my desktop.
I don't really want the hassle of installing some email program on my
laptop, because I really don't need it that often. All I want is to be able
to go to the server and read my mail there. You're probably right; they
made some change. But it still works on my phone and old desktop, so I
don't know how that works.

Hi Tracy,

Since you mention a setting of leaving mail on the server, that sounds like
you're using POP. I'd recommend switching your email client to IMAP as it's
a better protocol than POP, and leaving email on the server would also be
irrelevant because IMAP gives you a real-time interaction with the server
contents.

Next is the use of Firefox and Edge, so I assume the "client" you're using
is a web app which might have accessibility issues. Maybe your ISP did an
upgrade to the web app or maybe it behaves differently on the web browser
version on your new laptop? Lots of possibilities there, so that one has to
be narrowed down. Do you have Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird? You can't
beat Outlook with JAWS, but Thunderbird has come a long way if you need a
free solution. Freedom Scientific and Mozilla have been working on
accessibility, and the latest version is pretty decent. Anyway, once you
have an email client installed, you could reach out to your ISP support and
ask for IMAP instructions.

Hope that is helpful to some degree.

Brian
