[NFBCS] Easily sharing documents within a non-technical group

I am the leader of the NFB Blind Crafters Group.  We have a website, but it
has few visitors. 

I'm looking for an easy way to share documents with the membership, who vary
widely in technical ability and interest.  People want to find and read
documents without jumping through hoops.

It might be nice if people could add to the docs, but it's not the main
thing right now.

I share docs through our email list, but is there another good way, so
people could find them if they lose the email?

I have used Google Docs a little, though it was a bit confusing at first.
Is that the way to go, or is there something better?
