    <p>There is nothing wrong with the old menu bar, but Ribbons are
      what we have, and using virtualized replacements like you are
      means that when things break, you have to wait for updates. It
      doesn't take long to learn the new style; with that you're no
      longer stuck using a solution that can break at times.</p>

            There was nothing wrong with the old menu bar, and I don’t
            know why Microsoft completely did away with it. I understand
            that some people prefer the new fangled ribbon bar, both
            with and without the virtual ribbon, so people should be
            able to choose.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

            bar back in Windows Explorer, there is a program that can

            recommends that people stop using the JAWS virtual ribbons
            and adopt the ribbons provided by Microsoft. There are
            numerous tutorials available to teach people how to get at
            the ribbon nonvisually. I just sent out an old audio from
            Blind Training which, in my opinion, pretty much gives you
            what you need to make the transition.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

        <p class="MsoNormal">I had the same problem and called JAWS
          technical support. I was told  that an update from Microsoft
          likely broke the JAWS virtual menu feature.  Freedom
          Scientific will  work on a resolution for JAWS and push out a
          JAWS update at some point. <o:p></o:p></p>

        <p class="MsoNormal">As a work around, I turned off the JAWS
          virtual menu option  and can now access ribbons again. I don’t
          plan to go back to the virtual menu even if the problem gets
          resolved. <o:p></o:p></p>

            2021; I don’t know for sure because I cannot get to the Help
            menu in the different programs. I have the latest version of
            JAWS. I am running Windows 10 64 bit. I think that this
            happened after the latest JAWS update, but it could have
            been after an update to Windows, Office, etc. I turn on the
            “Use Virtual Ribbon Menus” option in the JAWS setting.
            Before, it worked fine. Now, if this is turned on, it just
            says blank. Sometimes, if I can manage to move into and back
            out of a submenu, it will start speaking the information,
            but most of the time it just says blank. Has anyone else had
            this problem?<o:p></o:p></span></p>
