One thing I to is to configure browsers to open websites in a new window. I can navigate from website to website. I can close one or all of the tabs. As a general principle, I use control plus f4 to close a website. With the tab option I just described that might not be necessary. I find using f4 means that I don’t accidentally close all websites. In my opinion, it may seem confusing when to use alt or control with f4 to perform tasks. The more keystrokes we need to memorize increases the cognitive load we have when we use computers. Perhaps someday AI will make common tasks easier. I’m only speculating so don’t take what I say too seriously.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif'>Thanks,<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif'>Dan <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><div><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'>From:</span></b><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'> NFBCS <nfbcs-bounces@nfbnet.org> <b>On Behalf Of </b>Curtis Chong via NFBCS<br><b>Sent:</b> Wednesday, October 9, 2024 10:26 AM<br><b>To:</b> 'NFB in Computer Science Mailing List' <nfbcs@nfbnet.org><br><b>Cc:</b> Curtis Chong <chong.curtis@gmail.com><br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [NFBCS] problems with Google Chrome<o:p></o:p></span></p></div></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Liz:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Can you be more specific about when and how the Alt Left Arrow is not working? For example, are you sure that you are in the same window as you were when you brought up the page that you now want to back out from? In the browser, as I am sure you know, when you open pages, they sometimes open in a different tab, and the previous page can only be reached by pressing Control with Tab. I am just raising this possibility because some folks who have less experience than we do can't tell when, after activating a link, whether the page opened in the same tab or window or in a different tab or window. To make this more certain, I oftentimes use Shift with Enter to activate a link, thus placing the result in a completely separate window that I can navigate away from with Alt Tab.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>If this is stuff you already know, please accept my apology in advance<span style='font-family:"Segoe UI Emoji",sans-serif'>😊</span>.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Cordially,<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Curtis Chong<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'>From:</span></b><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'> NFBCS <<a href="mailto:nfbcs-bounces@nfbnet.org">nfbcs-bounces@nfbnet.org</a>> <b>On Behalf Of </b>Elizabeth Campbell via NFBCS<br><b>Sent:</b> Wednesday, October 9, 2024 9:21 AM<br><b>To:</b> NFB in Computer Science Mailing List <<a href="mailto:nfbcs@nfbnet.org">nfbcs@nfbnet.org</a>><br><b>Cc:</b> Elizabeth Campbell <<a href="mailto:batescampbell@gmail.com">batescampbell@gmail.com</a>><br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [NFBCS] problems with Google Chrome<o:p></o:p></span></p></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><div><p class=MsoNormal>Thank you Denise, I really appreciate the update suggestion.
