La Página Cibernética Inaccesible de la Administración del Seguro Social,
SSA, Discrimina Contra los Ciegos



Baltimore, Maryland (24 de agosto del 2009): La Federación Nacional de

Ciegos, la organización más antigua y más grande a escala nacional de gente
ciega,

principal en la abogacía para la igualdad de acceso por los ciegos a la
tecnología de

la información, y Margot Downey, beneficiaria ciega del Seguro Social

de Buffalo, Nueva York, entabló una queja administrativa hoy en contra de

la Administración del Seguro Social (SSA). La queja afirma que

la página Cibernética de SSA viola la sección 508 del Acto de Rehabilitación

ya que es inaccesible a la gente ciega que utiliza la característica de

la tecnología de acceso en la pantalla, o las exhibiciones de Braille en la
información del acceso al

Internet. Debido a la inaccesibilidad de la página Cibernética de SSA,
