El Proceso de Solicitud Comienza

Becas para Los Ciegos en el Área Principal de Estudio de las Artes
Interpretativas

Nueva York, NY (21 de noviembre del 2009): La División no lucrativa de las
Artes

Interpretativas de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos, (PAD, NFB), está

actualmente tomando solicitudes para su, Mary Anne Parks, Beca de las Artes
Interpretativas.

La beca será concedida en la convención annual

de la Federación, 3-8 de julio del 2010, en Dallas, Tejas. El ganador
recibirá

$1.000 y un viaje todo-costo-pagado a la convención. La

beca está abierta a los estudiantes legalmente ciegos (de ultimo año  de la
Secundaria

a través de la escuela). Los aspirantes deben estar actualmente

en el área principal de estudio, o en una planificación del área principal
de estudio en una cierta forma de las artes interpretativas,

en el otoño del 2010. El plazo es el 31 de marzo del 2010. Las solicitudes

Juzgarán a los aspirantes en sus logros de las artes interpretativas,
y excelencia, con metas y aspiraciones relacionadas a las artes
interpretativas, y

los esfuerzos académicos de excelencia, y esfuerzos     en el servicio
comunitario.

"Los finalistas," dice Lisa Ostrow, Coordinadora de Becas, del

área de Boston, "será contactado en una entrevista de teleconferencia con

el Comité de la Beca."

"La Beca de Mary Anne Parks de las Artes Interpretativas," dice El

Presidente de PAD, Dennis H.R. Sumlin, "fué creada en memoria de nuestra
última

secretaria, Mary Anne Parks, de Atlanta, Georgia. Mary Anne era

una candidata de licenciatura master, y una líder dinámica que sostuvo
varios cargos

en la Federación. Murió a la edad de 30 en agosto del 2007, en camino de
hacer

enseñanza voluntaria para Hands on Atlanta, cuándo un coche atropelló la
camioneta

en la cual estába viajando."
