Asunto: Obituario de Ray McGeorge



MCGEORGE Raymond  Wesley, Ray McGeorge, de 80, de Denver, murió el 18 de 
junio
del 2010.
Le sobreviven su esposa de 56 años, Diane, su hermano, Iván, un nieto,
Michael McGeorge de Denver, y dos bisnietos. Dos hijos, Skip, y Bryan, su
nieta, Amy, sus hermanos, Homer y Earl, y su hermana, Ruby, que había muerto
antes que él. Ray nació y se crió en Loveland, Colorado. Quedó ciego en un
accidente cuándo era niño. Ray terminó la escuela en la escuela para Sordos
y Ciegos, Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind, de Colorado Springs.
Continuó en la escuela técnica, y trabajó cómo Tornero de Torrera para Morse
Industrials  durante 40 años. Ray jugó un papél importante a principios del
movimiento civíl  de los derechos para los ciegos, fundando la Federación
Nacional de Ciegos de Colorado en 1955. Rompió muchas barreras de empleo e
hizo añicos los estereotipos, demostrando que un hombre ciego podía

últimos 60 años, Ray ha sido un líder firme en promover la justicia y la
igualdad de trato para las personas ciegas en el estado de Colorado, y en
todo el país. Su muerte es llorada por sus amigos y colegas de todo el país.
En particular, Ray será echado de menos cómo el líder del centro para
ciegos, Colorado Center for the Blind, en el Programa para los Mayores. A 
aquellas
personas mayores, que pensaban que su vida había terminado cuándo perdieron
la vista, Ray les dio la esperanza para el futuro a través de las clases en
las habilidades, y en la edificación de confianza en sí, en la ceguera . No 
podemos ni siquiera comenzar a contar las contribuciones que Ray McGeorge ha 
hecho al
trabajar para traer igualdad de trato para las personas ciegas en todos los
ámbitos de vida. Y, no podemos comenzar a contar las pequeñas cosas que se
perderán con su muerte. Su tierno corazón, su generosidad, su fuerza de
carácter, su sentido del humor, y su amor a la vida, incluso frente a la

Un servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 10:00 am, el martes, 22 de junio
del 2010, en la iglesia Mile Hi Church of Religious Science, 9079 W. Alameda
Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado. En lugar de flores, las contribuciones en su
memoria pueden ser hechas al Colorado Center for the Blind, 2233 W.
Shepperd, Littleton, Colorado  80120, o a la Federación Nacional de Ciegos,
