Compañeros Federacionistas:

Este lunes, 29 de noviembre, el Senado comenzará el proceso de

aprobar el Acto de la Seguridad de Vehículos de Motor, S. 3302, aprobado en 
el
Calendario con consentimiento unánime.

Esta legislación contiene disposiciones de nuestro Acto de Mejoras de 
seguridad

peatonal, lo que requeriría que el Departamento de
Transporte establezca un estándar de seguridad de vehículo de motor para
que los vehículos híbridos y eléctricos estén equipados con una alerta
de sonido a fín de alertar a los peatones de su presencia y operación. 
Mientras que
nuestra porción del Acto de Seguridad de Vehículos Motorizados cuenta con el 
apoyo de la
industria del automóvil, el Comité del Senado sobre Comercio, Ciencia y
Transporte, ha estado trabajando diligentemente para resolver otras
diferencias en el proyecto, y preparar la legislación final
para la acción del Senado.

El proceso de consentimiento unánime comienza con una llamada telefónica 
directa para todos los
miembros del Senado, informando a los miembros que este proyecto de ley está 
siendo
considerado, para el consentimiento unánime del Calendario. Los miembros del 
Senado
Por consiguiente, dispondrán de cuarenta y ocho horas para oponerse al 
proyecto de ley en movimiento en el
Calendario de consentimiento unánime. Si ningún miembro se opone, el 
proyecto de ley se
considerará aprobado, sin la acción de la sala, y luego se enviará a la
Cámara de Representantes para la acción de la sala. Sin embargo, si incluso 
un solo

miembro objeta, el proyecto de ley no se puede mover hacia delante hasta que 
ese miembro
suelte su control sobre la legislación.
