Hola compañeros Veteranos, Oficiales y Junta Directiva,

La convención 2013 de la Federación para los veteranos fue fantástica.
Comenzamos creando nuestra mesa y banderillas para la sala de exposiciones
que
era un estupendo lugar.  La banderilla de 9 pies sobre nuestra mesa era
excelente y era
sumamente impactante, así lo dijo la señora Jernigan. La noche del martes,
dos de julio a 7:00 pm se celebró nuestra reunión
de Veteranos donde tuvimos muchos presentadores, así como nuestras
elecciones bi-anuales. Estos son los resultados.
Presidente,  Dwight Sayer de Clermont, Florída, Primer Vice Presidente, Gene
Huggins de Sumter,  South Carolina, Segundo Vice Presidente, Larry Ball de
Clearwater, Florída,  Secretaria, Patty Sayer de Clermont, Florída,
Tesorero,  Allen Bornstein de Ormond Beach, Florída, los Miembros de la
Junta Directiva siguen a continuación, Debi  Black , Clinton Grimsley, Nancy
Hester, Brad Loos, Cory Keith,
y nuestro Capellán Nacional y Miembro de la Junta Directiva,
el Padre John Sheehan. Clausuramos nuestra reunión con los vendedores que
ofrecen
prótesis (equipamiento) a la Administración de Veteranos, haciendo
presentaciones.
Durante las horas de salón de exhibiciones vendimos nuestras Placas de la
Asociación Nacional de Veteranos Ciegos, NABV, nuestro
Broche de Solapa Patriótico para el 2013,
que fue
un escudo de oro con adorno de tela roja, blanca y azul en ambos lados y la
inscripción (Una Nación Bajo Dios) en el centro del Broche de la Solapa.
También tuvimos nuestra
Rifa 50/50 que anotó $ 1.650. Llevamos a cabo nuestro sorteo el  sábado 6 al
mediodía.  El señor Harold Wilson de Baltimore fue
el ganador de $ 825.00. Felicidades Harold. El jueves, 4 de julio se
llevó a cabo  nuestra Celebración de la Libertad con la Fuerza Aérea de los
Estados Unidos que proporcionó
el Guardia de la bandera de la Base Aérea, Patrick Air Force Base. Un gran
agradecimiento va para
los hombres de la Base Aérea, Patrick, Air Force Base por un
trabajo bien hecho. El Padre John Sheehan nuestro Capellán Nacional y la
Doctora Jessica
Euell, proporcionaron nuestra celebración musical.  Sus Veteranos estaban de
un lado
al otro del escenario, y estaban envueltos alrededor del final del
escenario. Todos los
veteranos fueron presentados con una Cinta roja,
blanca y azul para adjuntar a sus
insignias de la convención, y en el centro de la cinta la palabra
Veterano fue inscrita. Todos se presentaron y nombraron su división de
servicio al que sirvieron. Presentamos
al Doctor Marc  Maurer y a la señora Patricia Maurer con sus Broches de
Solapa patrióticos del 2013,
y clausuramos nuestra celebración con un recordatorio de que la libertad no
es gratuita
 mientras que
estábamos recordando a nuestros hombres y mujeres de las fuerzas armadas.
Favor de recordar a sus
familias también porque esperan, miran, preguntan y oran para que su
ser querido vuelva a casa sano y salvo.
