¡Saludos de la División de Servicios Humanos de la Federación!

           A medida que el Presidente Maurer pasa la antorcha a un nuevo 
presidente,
la División de Servicios Humanos de la Federación considera que es lógico 
reconocer al líder de la tercera generación de Federacionistas ¡en una 
manera clásica! En honor al Doctor
Maurer, te ofreceremos una taza para café conmemorativa. Esta genial taza de 
11 onzas cuenta con un retrato del Doctor Maurer en el Salón de Conferencias 
de la 4ª planta del Instituto Jernigan. Por encima de su foto está el año en 
que asumió el cargo en "1986",
Por debajo de esta fecha están las palabras "Reflecting the
Flame", "Al Reflejar la Llama", el título de uno de sus muchos impactantes 
discursos de banquetes. Debajo de su retrato están las palabras "Passing the 
Torch" "Pasemos la
Antorcha"y la fecha "2014". En el lado opuesto del retrato de la taza está 
la nueva insignia de la Federación a todo color. Estas tazas estarán 
disponibles en
La mesa de Servicios Humanos, (B-18)
y en nuestra reunión (vé información más abajo) por sólo $10.00. Estas

           La División de Servicios Humanos es una división fuerte y 
orgullosa de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos, cuyos miembros son 
profesionales ciegos en el
campo de servicios humanos, o que aspiran a trabajar en este campo, tales 
como trabajadores sociales, consejeros de salud mental, psicólogos, asesores 
genéticos, musicoterapeutas,
consejeros de rehabilitación, médicos, enfermeras,
profesionales de la salud, y otros campos de servicios humanos relacionados. 
Nuestra reunión se llevará a cabo en el Salón 19, Nivel 2 del Rosen Hotel & 
Convention Center. La inscripción, y una contienda de trivia se llevarán a 
cabo desde 1:00 hasta 1:45 pm. Nuestra reunión comenzará puntualmente a 2:00 
PM.
Con presentaciones interesantes sobre nuestros esfuerzos para implementar 
los Registros Electrónicos de Salud (EHR) Accesibles, por Lauren McLarney, 
una introducción al manual
diagnóstico y estadístico de trastornos mentales (DSM-5) por J.D. Townsend, 
con licencia de trabajador social clínico, LCSW, y
la superación de la frase desafiante, "Licencia de conducir requerida" en 
muchos anuncios de trabajo por  Millie Rivera, una Federacionista que 
trabaja para la Comisión
de Oportunidades de Empleo, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,
(¡EEOC)!  Merry Schoch  discutirá
la labor que la División está haciendo para mejorar la accesibilidad a la 
concesión de licencias y otros exámenes y cursos de acreditación. 
Ganadores de becas se presentarán
ellos mismos y hablarán de sus objectivos y aspiraciones en el campo.

Greetings from the NFB Human Services Division!

           As President Maurer passes the torch
to a new president, the NFB's Human Services
Division feels it is only fitting to recognize
the leader of the third generation of
Federationists in a classic way! In honor of Dr.
Maurer, we will offer you a commemorative coffee
mug. This large 11 oz. mug will feature a
portrait of Dr. Maurer in the 4th floor
Conference Room of the Jernigan Institute. Above
his photo is the year he took office   "1986",
Below this date are the words "Reflecting the
Flame", the title of one of his many impressive
banquet addresses. Below his portrait are the
words "Passing the Torch" and the date "2014". On
the opposite side of the mug from the portrait is
the new NFB logo in full color. These mugs will
be available at the Human Services table (B-18)
and at our meeting (see information below) for
only $10.00. These limited edition coffee mugs
will sell out, so don't wait too long to get yours!

           The Human Services Division is a
strong & proud division of the National
Federation of the Blind whose members are blind
professionals in the human services field or
aspiring to work in this field, such as social
workers, mental health counselors, psychologists,
genetic counselors, music therapists,
rehabilitation counselors, doctors, nurses,
health care  practitioners, , and other human
services related fields. Our meeting will be held
in Salon 19, Level 2 of the Rosen Hotel &
Convention Center. Registration and a trivia
contest will be held from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Our
meeting will begin promptly at 2:00 P.M. and
feature exciting presentations about our efforts
to implement accessible electronic health records
(EHR) by Lauren McLarney, an introduction to the
Diagnostic & Statistical manual of Mental
Disorders (DSM-5) by J.D. Townsend, LCSW, , and
overcoming the challenging phrase in so many job
announcements, "Driver license required" by
Millie Rivera, a Federationist who works for the
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
(EEOC)!  Merry Schoch  will discuss the work the
Division is doing  to improve the accessibility
to licensing and other credentialing examinations
& courses.   Scholarship winners will introduce
themselves and talk about their goals and aspirations in the field.
