I have done some research and wanted to provide the following with you to
share at our monthly Greater Daytona Beach Chapter meeting tomorrow. 

Thank you Tom for getting the Uber info as well as the Tri Rail info. Bill,
can you please send the below information out to the entire chapter for me?

Amtrak Information for Going to State Convention

Taking A Uber from Volusia to the train station in Deland is about $60 for
up to 4 people.

 

Out bound trains on Friday, May 24 are: 

8:56 or 11:36 A.M. 

 

Return trips from Deer Field Beach on Monday, May 27 are: 

9:08 or 12:28 

 

Round trip is $78 per person. 

 

One way trip is $39  per person - weird but the price is a few dollars more
if you ask for the disability rate)   

 

They are aware that folks may have their guide dog and it doesn't appear
that there is a limit on baggage. Just let the reservationist know if you
will have a guide dog.

The rates may increase the longer folks wait to make their reservation
according to the representative I spoke with by phone.   

 

Convention goers will have to catch the Tri Rail in Deer Field to get to the
Embassy Suites in Boca Raton and that is around 2 To 4 dollars and people
will arrive right next to the hotel I understand. . 

Folks will have to allow adequate time to leave Boca Raton on Monday and get
Tri Rail train back to Deer Field beach so they can catch the Amtrak train
back to Deland train station.  

 

Of course, arrangements will have to be made to order a Uber back to Daytona
Beach from Deland. 

 

 

We can discuss all of this further at our chapter meeting tomorrow.
