Good morning, Chapter!

 

We have been discussing the City of Jacksonville's 5th Annual Disability &
Adaptive Recreation Expo at our Chapter meetings over the past several
months and wouldn't you know it, the time for the big event is here.

 

I had wanted to get you all information about the event much sooner than
today, but I've had some difficulty in securing a table for our Chapter, due
to bureaucratic hoops that the city has been having me attempt to work
through for several weeks. You all have waited long enough for an
announcement about the Chapter's involvement in the event and so this
morning I am sending out this note even though there are still some
uncertainties existing. I will continue to try to clarify unresolved issues
today and tomorrow with the city.

 

We hope to have a table ready for us to staff when the event opens this
Friday at 10:00 AM at the Prime Osborne Convention Center, but even if we
don't, we can certainly have the fun we had at last years event and walk the
event together and speak to attendees and other vendors about our wonderful
Chapter.

 

You may also find it very interesting and personally beneficial to visit
other vendors and learn about their services. No surprise to any of you that
I find exhibit halls to be lots of fun.

If you can find the time to come out and join us on Friday, please respond
and let me know when you might arrive and how long you might be able to
stay. If we do have a table, we'll take turns staffing it and providing
information about the National Federation of the Blind and our Greater
Jacksonville Chapter. We have so much to offer and being together in public
at an event like the COJ Disability Expo is a great opportunity for us to
meet others and to grow our Chapter.

 

Again, please let me know if you can make the event either by phone or
email. Don't forget to sport that Chapter Polo or T-Shirt if you have one!

When: Friday, July 24, 2026, doors open for Exhibitors at 9:00 AM, public
admitted at 10:00 AM.

Official event time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
