If you are like me, you probably got an email from JTA with a link to an Uber opt in form with no additional information. Here is what is known so far with a few comments based off of people I know that have already filled out the form. This will also be discussed at Saturday\u2019s chapter meeting.<div><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;">Beginning today, April 2, if you are a Connexion Plus customer, using the UZURV service, the price will increase to $10 for the first 12 miles, and $2.50 for each mile after 12. After hearing from over 200 members of our community who indicated our strong disappointment with these actions, JTA has come up with a new solution that they hope will fill the gap.</span><div style="font-size: 12pt; margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">You may have received an email Tuesday evening from \u201cThe Jacksonville Transportation Authority,\u201d that had very little information contained within. The email indicated that you could click on a link to \u201copt in\u201d for an Uber program. Here is a little more information about this program.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="font-size: 12pt; margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">JTA has partnered with Uber to transport customers of Connexion and Connexion plus. The customer will pay $3.50 and JTA will pay for up to $20 for each ride. Any amount that the trip costs which goes over the $20 mark will be paid by the rider. This means that if it costs you $12 to get to work in an Uber, you will pay $3.50, and JTA will pay $8.50. Conversely, if your trip costs $24.00, You will pay $4.00 and JTA will pay $20.00. To opt in to the program, you should click on the link in the email sent by JTA. A form will display that needs to be filled out by you, the rider. You will need your name, your JTA customer ID and your home address. Once the form is submitted to JTA, the vouchers will be loaded into your Uber account. You will receive a text shortly after submitting the form to confirm you Uber account. Ten trips will be loaded per week. This means that if you use Uber for more than just coming to and from work, you may need to make up costs later in the week, or manually change your payment method before scheduling your non-work related ride. <o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="font-size: 12pt; margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">If you do not use all of the rides given to you in any given voucher, the rides will disappear and a new voucher of ten rides will be loaded the next week.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="font-size: 12pt; margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Uber will let you know via notification each day how many rides you have left on the voucher. You may schedule your trips in advance, or schedule them when you need them whichever is best for you.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="font-size: 12pt; margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">I have tried to answer as many questions as I can anticipate.
