Hi Sherril:

I am so sorry to learn of your adored "Merry".  She has been such a faithful 
companion.

I do not  know  if this would give you any hope--but Judy Black's dog "Wink" 
has (or had) bone cancer in his leg.  He had surgery and has been through a 
lot of medical care.  Currently, he appears to be improving.

Hope all goes well with Merry.
