Judy
I don't know if it will come out any better this time, but it is "Who's Whozit?" In other words, who is the little figure in our logo, the one we call Whozit? Sorry to hear you are having trouble reading some emails. Hope you get it resolved soon.

Thank you Gina for posting this message. We had our chapter meeting
yesterday and we are planning our event for
October 10th. I was wondering why Jerry Lazarus had not sent out any
emails yet. I thought possibly the campaign had scaled down or something.
For some unexplainable reason the title of this project is jiberish in my
particular email program. What is the title? Between Mark not being able
to communicate on the lists and the jiberish in my listserve emails, we
really have challenges lol!
Thanks, again,
Judy

> I know national will be kicking this off soon, but I wanted to give you a
heads up before the August meetings. This is information I received from
the Meet the Blind Month Seminar at national convention. I couldn't find it
on the website yet, but Im sure it will be coming soon. In honor of the
200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille, the "Whos Whozit?"
initiative is being introduced to our Meet the Blind Month activities. This
is how it works.
In, August, chapters should contact, at least, one elementary, middle or
high school. Arrange to present the "Whos Whozit?" material to one or
more classes in the month of October. Order you "Whos Whozit?" materials
by September 14th from the national office. Each packet of will include:
program guide tailored for your target audience, Braille cards, dye-cut
Whozits, "Whos Whozit and What's it all about?"
A whozit and five alphabet cards will be given to each student.
Participants will be instructed to bring the whozits and alphabet cards
with them wherever they go during the month of October. Each week they
should introduce Whozit to at least one new person. They will give each
person an alphabet card and tell them about the Whos Whozit Campaign.
Students will be take photographs of people receiving their alphabet cards.
They will then log onto the NFB website and submit their photos. Access
with only be granted to those who have deciphered the Braille on the bottom
of their alphabet card. Each student can submit one photo that will be
entered into one of three prize categories. The winners will receive a
Louis Braille coin. The goal is for Whozit to meet one million people
during the month of October. For more information, you can contact Jerry
Lazarus at the national office 410-659-9314 ext. 2297 or email
