Dear friends,
I want to thank each and every one of you has responded with your sympathy,
your kind words, and your thoughtful messages.
My Mom had been ill for some time, better at times worse at others. Gloria
and I were able to visit with her and many of my other family members in
June, and she seemed as though she was doing and feeling pretty well at that
time. However, there was damage to her heart and her lungs, and, when she
got worse this time, it was not long before she was gone.
I have so many great memories of my mom and the time my family spend
together, especially when I was younger. When we took vacations, my mom was
the one who did the driving. There were thsoe times that she read to me,
late into the night, so that I could complete school assignments. For a time
she was even Treasurer of the National Federation of the Blind of Utah!
I will miss her and so will my brother and sisters and all those
grandchildren. I regret that my daughters did not get to know her better. I
have no grandchildren yet, though it saddens me that they, when they do come
along, will never know her.
Yet, I know so many people my age and younger who have already lost one or
both parents, and I am glad that I had both of my parents living on the
earth for as long as I did. That is something to be thankful for.
Thank you all.
