Dear Marion,
My name is Chris Foster. I am the director of Community Relations for the NFB of Colorado as well as the second vice-president for the Denver chapter. Your message to Maurice was forwarded to me. The information your friend received regarding Colorado's Department of Vocational Rehabilitation being closed to new clients is correct at the moment. We are doing what we can to speed this situation along. I would invite you to please forward my contact information to your friend. I would be glad to help out however I can. Even though we don't have DVR as a real option right now, we have lots of federationests here in Denver with plenty of experience and big hearts. regards,
Chris Foster

    Maurice,
I received this message from a member on our Florida list. Do you have anyone to whom I can refer this person? Please let me know at your convenience.

    Peace!
    Marion

      Hey NFBF Friends,

Does anyone out there know positive blind people in Denver Colorado? My

cousin had an unfortunate accident and has lost most of her vision. She

really could use a friend who can encourage her and maybe get her involved

in the NFB out in Denver. I called Colorado Center for the Blind this

afternoon and found out that Colorado Vocational Rehabilitation is not

acccepting new clients. Could you imagion, lossing your sight, being scared

and depressed and not even get training to use your computer, walk around

independently, or even take care of your child? I think I take my training

and ability to receive training for granted. When I moved to Florida all I

had to do was call DBS and fill out some paperwork, see some doctors and

      meet my counsler.

Thank you for any and all assistance you can provide.

      Holly
