Hello Rachel,

I must add my congratulations on your winning a national scholarship.

I have served on the NFB Scholarship Committee on more than one occasion. It 
was some of the hardest work I have ever done. The committee meets for three 
days and once at national convention. The committee members read and rank 
hundreds of applications, trying to determine which applicants have that 
unique set of characteristics to be the blind movers and leaders of 
tomorrow. There is arguing and persuading and sometimes bickering and 
horse-trading going on during the meetings and breaks, but it is all in a 
gallant attempt to make sure that the cream truly does rise to the very top. 
Well, we as members of the NFBF can be assured that, in your case, this has 
indeed happened this year.

We look forward to watching as you walk across the banquet hall stage to 
receive you well-earned award.

We also look forward to seeing and working with you at the upcoming NFBF 
State Convention in Boca Raton.
