Hi, Judy.

I'm glad you met Mary Jane and that she was able to help you with some O&M
issues. I remember her from my time as a student at the Conklin Center here
in Daytona Beach. You might let her know I was thinking of her when your
message came through.

I'm sure that center in Ocala is under new management, it has had
considerable turnover a couple of times, I understand. I had visited it
once in the '90's when they held a technology seminar. At the time I was
still living with my family in St. Augustine. I mentioned Marilyn as I
bought a Pac-Mate from her second-hand about thre years ago. I haven't
heard from her since concerning how she was doing. Those who know the
distant past history of NFBF will remember she was a past state president.
As I have a laptop now that unit really no longer has a role in my life and
I never totally became comfortable with it anyway.

Have a good day.

Bill Outman

Bill:

The center still exists, but I believe it is under different management.
An O&M instructor from there, Mary Jane Anderson, assisted me with some
travel training last May and June, 2009, through Division of Blind
Services. I have been to several Veteran Affairs open house events at the
Medical Center here in Gainesville and have met with several Ocala
residents who stopped by our table. This may be something the chapter
building committee might want to investigate further.
