[Nfbf-l] [NFBF-Leaders] Still low room rates for NFBF CONVENTION HOTEL

Perhaps I am missing something here but if the NFB can be held to the contract why can't the hotel? How can they force us to honor it when they won't honor it themselves?

Thanks,
Jim

The hotel just needs to cut the rates in our contract. If we don't get credit for the rooms lost to the lower rates, we may not meet our contractual obligation and our affiliate will end up paying. I probably know of at least 20 room nights lost already, and I'm sure there are more. I couldn't find a copy of the contract to see what our affiliate will end up paying. Whether we book at the lower rates, or the contract rates, the hotels wins. This business practice is unacceptible and I will never consider this hotel for any future personal or organizational event.

Hello all,

Please pass along the following.

I just called the Holiday Inn (can't remember what it is now called) saying that I wanted reservations for the Memorial Day weekend and they quoted me a rack rate of $69. I would strongly encourage all those who are planning on going to convention to call and make your reservations now. Because we are having contract issues, we signed with them at a higher rate and must be held to that, so I would just say you want a reservation and not specify that it is for the NFBF convention. The rate of $69 is now available and I would strongly suggest you take advantage of it. Ask for discounts for AARP and Triple A. Don't go online, just call the local number, which is (407) 351-3500.
