Accroding to the information we netted $1135. Thanks to all of you who bought and sold tickets, making this raffle a success. We worked together and it paid off. We made some money and someone in New Smyrna Beach is pretty happy today. The plan for a new raffle in the spring is to get big prizes donated and the chapters to to take a share of what is sold. If you have any ideas, connections, etc. on getting big prizes donated, please let me know. We are currently working on cruises and hotel weekends, but have not secured anything as of yet. Happy New Year to all! Thanks again.

Subject: [NFBF-Leaders] NEE YEAR'S RAFFLE WINNER

Fellow NFBF Members,

I am happy to announce that the drawing for the NFBF New Year's Raffle has
taken place.

The drawing took place at O'Brien's Pub in Tampa at 7:00 PM. Board members
present were NFBF Treasurer Gloria Hicks, NFBF Board Member Sherrill
O'Brien, who brought her husband Mike and her new guide dog Fallon, and
myself. Also attending this festive event were NFBF Tampa Bay Chapter Board
Members Cindy Hedinger and Lloyd Matthews, and chapter member Christy
Hedinger.

We sold tickets to several of the pub's patrons, right up until the drawing
time, which we had set at 7:00 PM, which brought in an additional $85.00 for
the Affiliate. In total, it appears we sold 437 of the 500 tickets printed
and received $2185.00. After we subtract the cost of the tickets and the
$1,000.00 prize, we still made over $1,000.00. Thank you to Gina for this
great fundraising idea.

The winning ticket was sold by Allen Bornstein, Treasurer of the Greater
Daytona Beach Chapter. It seems to me that the last time we had a cash
raffle, the winning ticket was sold by Allen Bornstein. Remind me to buy my
next ticket from Allen Bornstein.

Well, I think that covers everything, so I guess I will just wish everyone a
Happy New Year!

What's that? Did I forget something?

Oh yeah, the lucky winner of the National Federation of the Blind of Florida
Happy New Year Raffle drawing was Kathleen Osborne of New Smyrna Beach,
Florida. Kathleen is the Recording Secretary of the Center for the Visually
Impaired in Daytona Beach.

Thank you Kathleen, and thank you to everyone who sold or bought tickets and
helped to make this fundraising project such a great success.

Happy New Year and a great and prosperous 2010 to everyone!

Dan Hicks, President
