It was $10 before when I renewed mine last year, overdue at that.  

Probably the costs of the new regs and the state budget in general are
responsible for the increase.  

Glad I don't have to do mine again until 2017 unless I move.

You can only renew once, then you have to go in.  Homeland Security now 
requires a proof of citizenship, identification and residency.

I was shocked at the cost, it was $25!! I thought it was only $10 last time.
