Please find attached and below the NFBF 2010 Student Scholarship
Application. I am asking each of you to do everything possible to spread the
word to qualified high school seniors and college students. This is a
program that benefits not only scholarship winners but the NFBF as well
since it is a way of recruiting enthusiastic new members.

NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND OF FLORIDA ANNOUNCEMENT

NFBF NOW ACCEPTING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

 

The National Federation of the Blind of Florida (NFBF) is now accepting
student scholarship applications for 2010. Recipients will receive their
scholarships at the 2010 NFBF State Convention scheduled for the Memorial
Day Weekend:  May 28 (Friday), May 29 (Saturday), May 30 (Sunday), and May
31 (Monday).  The Convention will take place in Orlando, Florida, at:

Qualified high school seniors and college students should complete the NFBF
Scholarship Application Form in Microsoft Word format and return to:

NOTE:  Please ask that your letters of recommendation and transcripts also
be sent by email to Ms. Davis.  

 

The National Federation of the Blind of Florida 2010 Scholarship Program
consists of awards totaling $6,000, which are offered to outstanding
students who are enrolled in academic education beyond the high school
level.  The NFB of Florida will award one scholarship for $2,000, one in the
amount of $1500, and two in the amount of $1250. To qualify, students must
be legally blind, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.70, and
attend the entire State Convention. In addition, all scholarship applicants
must provide official transcripts and complete all components of the
scholarship form. Winners will have their ground transportation, convention
registration and banquet fees, as well as room and board, covered by the
NFBF state affiliate. Applications are due to Ms. Davis no later than April
15, 2010.
