I have to underscore what you have said, Patti. I had the pleasure of
serving on the Rehab Council with Dawn for 4 years and Janet Caron was a
beloved friend since I met her at my first state convention. Dawn even made
it a point to recommend a scholarship applicant. Janet had become a terrific
member in the Greater Daytona Beach Chapter and we so enjoyed our long talks
at and between meetings. We have without question lost two amazing women and
treasured friends.

It is with such sadness that I write this:  two great ladies in the Florida
blindness family have passed away this week.  Dawn Saunders was not only my
DOE "go to" person but also a courageous women and great teacher.   And,
Janet Caron? What a sweet spirit she was!  Just last year as I was
accompanying her to the ladie's room at the national convention in Detroit,
something that I had done many times over the years when Arlene wasn't
available, she said to me that she thought it would be her last convention.
She said she was very tired and it was just too hard for her to travel so
far from Florida. What fateful words!  Janet and Dawn...I will miss both of
you and I hope that I showed you, while you were still with us, that you
were loved!
